T.W.A.S. April 9-13th

This week we began working again with our Literacy Groups.  The stations are: editing practice, visualization, writing using a picture prompt, making words plural, and guided reading with the teacher.

We tried drawing a one-point perspective drawing in art.  In these, we use a horizon line and vanishing point to show where the sky meets the ground.  The vanishing point shows depth and things that are close to it are smaller because they are farther away.

We had a Jump Rope for Heart Assembly.  Pledge envelopes are due April 25th.

In math, our class is working on fraction centers.  Check Iris for my Fraction Lego Creation.  Other centers included comparing fraction, "Fraction-ize Me," computers, and solving word problems.

Ms. Rutland started a new novel called Kensuke's Kingdom.

Royal Oak School has started composting!  Our class will be making a few announcements with recycling and composting tips and we also made posters to show students which bin to use.

Our class has been collecting research on the 4 countries that we've been studying.  Please read my Friday Journal for a summary of what I've learned so far!

Next week: There is no school Friday, April 20th.

Fraction-ize Me!
