This Week at School

I need to start out by saying this post was completed by Ms. Rutland - as we ran out of time today!
Language Arts
In Language Arts, the students began working on a persuasive paragraph about an issue that was debated in class.  Students began writing their paragraph in Google Docs - so take a look!  Some students are not very far along in it yet as we will be continuing our work next week.  Students will be shown examples of strong and "meh" paragraphs and learn about correct paragraph structure using the following graphic organizer.

Math
We are going to be moving into subtracting 2 and 3-digit numbers next week.  We model the process with manipulatives, then we will look at subtraction strategies through word problems and math games.
Inquiry
Students all wrapped up their presentations about animals in the Weaselhead.  They completed a self-reflection in their Friday Journals.  I needed to hang onto their journals this weekend - so you will be able to see their reflections next week!
Students also worked through Adaptation Centres this week.  Ask them to tell you about the difference between behavioural and physical adaptations!

Today there was an assembly for Stephen's Backpacks.  We are still collecting donations for those!

Have a wonderful weekend!
