This week we finished our animal masks. We painted the paper mache and then we used different materials to add details to our masks. We are going to use our masks to create an oral story about our animal in the Weaselhead.
Remembrance Day
Today is our Remembrance Day Assembly. We made a poppy wreath and we made a dove with our thumb prints. The Grade 3's have learned a song called, "Today I'm Going to Try and Change the World."
Math
In math, we made a poster with a group that shows the number of small, medium, large, and extra large shirts our group has in their factory. The math posters show how we added 3 numbers together using different strategies. We used sticky notes to give each other feedback on our work during a gallery walk.
In math, we also did a couple "2-Pen Assessments". You use a pencil and a pen to answer addition questions. You start with a pencil and then after one minute, you switch to the pen. You try to answer the questions as fast as you can BUT you also need to be accurate.
Inquiry
We are going to be presenting "Why the Weaselhead is a good environment for ______" and our research about the animals we chose next Tuesday. Ask me about my presentation!
