This Week at School

Olivia - Today is Orange Shirt day.
Lily - Orange Shirt Day comes from the story of when a First Nations girl was told that she had to go to a school far away.  Her Grandma gave her a new orange shirt but then they took it away and gave her a uniform.  And she never saw her shirt again. We wear orange shirts to represent what she was wearing and to promise to never have residential schools again.
Tobe - We went to the wetlands and saw some animals like muskrats, ducks, and even a dead bird.  We also explored the plants and water.  We saw a big pile of feathers on the ground and we don't know what happened.
Simon - We did a math problem about flashing lights.
Bryan - We learned about animal classification.  That is how scientists sort different animals.
Olivia - Today we are meeting our Grade 1 buddies!
